Motors for blinds in Crowthorne and Sandhurst, Berkshire

We offer a range of motors for blinds from leading suppliers Somfy, Louvolite and Lutron.

One of the most common problems we have is from customers who have previously had motorised blinds installed only for the client to advise they are a lot noisier compared to the ones in our showroom.

It is important to see and hear the motors operating prior to purchasing. This will ensure you purchase the correct motor for the product and how you wish to operate the product.

We offer a range of motors from Somfy and Louvolite

Somfy Motors

Somfy are regarded as one of the world leaders in motorisation for the blind and awning industry having a wide range of motors and methods of control.

For roller blinds we usually supply the sonesse motor. This is one of the quietest motors if not the quietest motor and has many options for controlling the blind.

For small size roller blinds that are not convenient to install a mains power supply we offer a battery wireless motor and for non accessible areas we offer the battery wireless motor with a small solar panel.

Louvolite Motors

Louvolite are a major UK supplier of material and components to the industry and have recently introduced a range of motors designed to offer motorisation to a larger audience that is more cost effective.

Naturally with a more cost effective motor the size of blinds is generally reduced and therefore looking to the domestic installation although some of the motors are suitable for commercial applications.

The magic wand product is a fantastic breakthrough. A wand is attached to the motor giving ease of access to operate the controls. The power to this blind is from batteries neatly out of view of the product. The wand is only available for roller blinds.

Another alternative is a motor that can be recharged via a small charger supplied. Ideal for locations that can not have a power supply that may have a higher frequency of operation.

Mains powered motors are also available from Louvolite for the larger blinds.

Smart living with Louvolite- Operate your Blinds from Anywhere

One of the key drivers behind the rise of motorised window blinds is their integration with smart home technology. While smart lighting, speakers and cameras are all the rage amongst those seeking for sleeker, more convenient alternatives, smart blinds offer benefits that can really impact how you manage your home and finances when it matters the most.

This is where Louvolite One Touch® comes in. This smart home technology helps us think differently about how we add shade to our windows, taking full advantage of the smart home integrations with being compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. You can also operate the blinds from our app adding to the convenience of being able to control your blinds while on holiday. Our timer remote also allows you to pre-set schedules for added convenience and added home security whilst away from home.

The Louvolite Home hub is a compact smart device that connects to your WiFi so you can control your One Touch window blinds straight from your smartphone or tablet devices. 3. Manual version -easy to use crank mechanism allowing you to customise shading to your outdoor space throughout the day.

How to clean Awnings?

  1. Make sure your awning is fully retracted into their protective cassettes after every use.
  2. To clean an Awning, first ensure that the fabric is fully extended. Use a mix of warm water and detergent-free soap as well as a microfibre cloth to gently wipe the Awning clean; Then allow time for the fabric to dry completely. We recommend cleaning your Awning at least twice a year; Once before using it in the summer and again before you’ve rolled it up for winter, we also recommend wiping the metal components and fittings twice a year with a soft cloth dampened with warm soapy water.
  3. Tackle stubborn stains by using a specialist fabric stain remover or mild detergent and make sure you follow the manufacturer’s instructions closely. Test a modest area of your awning fabric first if you’re in any doubt.
  4. Please don't use a pressure washer or bleach It will quickly damage the structure of the fabric.

Can Awning Be Used in Winter?

  1. Our awnings are water resistant and can handle light rain just fine; But they are not designed to withstand some of the more extreme conditions in winter such as heavy rain, wind and snow.
  2. We recommend minimal use of the Awning throughout winter
  3. we also recommend removing the decorative fabric valance and storing it somewhere dry until the warmer weather returns.

Are Awnings Wind and rainproof?

  1. Although water resistant and durable, our retractable Awnings are not designed for heavy rain as this can pool on the fabric and substantially increase the Awning’s weight.
  2. We strongly recommend leaving the Awning fully retracted on windy days or during heavy rainfall.
