This distinctive design makes them an excellent choice for homeowners looking for stylish window coverings with additional thermal and energy-efficient properties.

Our bespoke honeycomb blinds are available in a wide choice of colours, fabrics and operating options, including light-filtering and blackout fabrics. They can be made for standard windows as well as a range of specialist applications, including bi-fold doors, conservatories, roof windows and skylights.

Based in Crowthorne, Berkshire, we manufacture many of our blinds in our own workshop and provide a professional measuring and fitting service across Berkshire and surrounding areas, including Wokingham, Bracknell, Camberley, Reading, Ascot, Windsor, Maidenhead, Yateley, Farnborough and Fleet.

Free, no-obligation quotations are available.

What Are Honeycomb Blinds?

Honeycomb blinds, also known as cellular blinds, are made using specially constructed fabric that forms a series of individual cells.

These cells create pockets of air between the room and the window, providing an additional insulating layer.

This unique construction gives honeycomb blinds several benefits:

  • Helps improve thermal insulation
  • Helps reduce heat loss through windows
  • Can help control solar heat
  • Provides excellent privacy
  • Offers flexible light control
  • Creates a clean and contemporary appearance
  • Available in blackout and light-filtering fabrics
  • Suitable for a wide range of windows and doors

Honeycomb blinds are particularly useful in rooms where temperature control and comfort are important.

Thermal Honeycomb Blinds

One of the main reasons homeowners choose honeycomb blinds is their thermal performance.

Windows can be a significant source of heat loss in a property. Honeycomb blinds create additional air pockets between the room and the glazing, helping to reduce the transfer of heat through the window.

During colder months, this can help retain warmth within the room. During warmer periods, suitable fabrics can also help reduce the impact of strong sunlight and solar heat.

The result can be a more comfortable room throughout the year.

Our team can recommend suitable thermal honeycomb blinds based on your windows, room and requirements.

Energy-Efficient Honeycomb Blinds

If you are looking for ways to improve the energy efficiency of your home, energy-efficient honeycomb blinds can be a practical addition to your existing windows.

While blinds are not a replacement for high-performance glazing or insulation, the right window covering can provide an additional insulating layer.

Honeycomb blinds are particularly useful in:

  • Bedrooms
  • Living rooms
  • Conservatories
  • Home offices
  • Large glazed areas
  • Rooms with exposed windows
  • Rooms that become cold in winter
  • Rooms that receive strong sunlight

Our experienced team can explain the different fabric options and help you choose the most suitable solution.

Blackout Honeycomb Blinds

For bedrooms and other areas where controlling daylight is important, blackout honeycomb blinds are an excellent option.

Blackout fabrics are designed to significantly reduce incoming light and can help create a darker, more comfortable environment.

They are particularly useful for:

  • Bedrooms
  • Children's rooms
  • Guest bedrooms
  • Home cinemas
  • Rooms with early morning sunlight
  • Roof windows and skylights

Choose from a selection of colours and finishes to combine effective light control with an attractive interior design.

Light-Filtering Honeycomb Blinds

If you want to enjoy natural daylight while maintaining privacy, light-filtering honeycomb blinds can provide an excellent solution.

Translucent fabrics soften incoming sunlight and help reduce glare while allowing natural light to enter the room.

They are particularly suitable for:

  • Living rooms
  • Dining rooms
  • Kitchens
  • Home offices
  • Conservatories

Our team can show you different fabric options and explain the levels of privacy and light control available.

Honeycomb Blinds for Conservatories

Conservatories can experience significant temperature changes throughout the year.

Large areas of glass allow sunlight and heat into the room during summer, while the glazing can contribute to heat loss during colder weather.

Honeycomb conservatory blinds can provide an additional layer between the room and the glazing, helping to improve comfort and manage sunlight.

They can be manufactured for suitable conservatory windows, doors and roof sections.

Our team can assess your conservatory and recommend the most suitable honeycomb or cellular blind solution.

Honeycomb Blinds for Bi-Fold Doors

Large glazed bi-fold doors can benefit from the slim and discreet design of honeycomb blinds.

Where suitable, honeycomb blinds for bi-fold doors can provide privacy and light control while maintaining the clean appearance of the glazing.

Perfect Fit-style systems may also be suitable for certain applications, allowing the blinds to sit neatly within individual door panels.

Our professional measuring service ensures that each blind is manufactured to the dimensions required for your doors.

Perfect Fit Honeycomb Blinds

For suitable UPVC windows and doors, Perfect Fit honeycomb blinds can provide a discreet and integrated solution.

The blind sits within the window frame, helping to create a clean appearance without traditional fixing to the surrounding wall or recess.

Perfect Fit systems can be particularly useful for:

  • UPVC windows
  • Conservatory windows
  • Bi-fold doors
  • French doors
  • Glazed doors

Our team can assess your windows and advise whether a Perfect Fit honeycomb solution is suitable.

Honeycomb Blinds for Roof Windows and Skylights

Roof windows and skylights can provide beautiful natural light but may also create excessive heat and glare.

Honeycomb roof blinds and skylight blinds can help control sunlight while providing additional thermal properties.

Blackout options can be particularly useful in bedrooms with roof windows, while light-filtering fabrics can work well in living spaces.

Our made to measure service allows us to create bespoke solutions for suitable roof glazing.

Our experienced team can help you select a fabric based on:

  • Room orientation
  • Interior design
  • Window size
  • Operating requirements

Privacy and Light Control

Honeycomb blinds offer excellent flexibility when controlling privacy and natural light.

Depending on the fabric selected, you can filter daylight, reduce glare or significantly reduce incoming light with blackout materials.

Their cellular construction also provides a distinctive appearance when the blind is closed, creating a soft and contemporary finish across your windows.

Top-Down Bottom-Up Honeycomb Blinds

For suitable honeycomb systems, top-down bottom-up blinds can provide an additional level of flexibility.

This operating configuration allows you to position the blind from either the top or bottom of the window.

For example, you can cover the lower part of a window for privacy while leaving the upper section open to allow natural daylight into the room.

This can be particularly useful for:

  • Street-facing windows
  • Ground-floor rooms
  • Bathrooms
  • Bedrooms
  • Living rooms
  • Offices

Our team can advise whether this operating configuration is suitable for your windows.

Motorised Honeycomb Blinds

For selected applications, we can also provide motorised honeycomb blinds.

Motorisation is particularly useful for:

  • Large windows
  • High-level windows
  • Roof windows
  • Skylights
  • Hard-to-reach glazing
  • Multiple blinds

Depending on the system selected, motorised blinds can be operated at the touch of a button and may also be integrated with compatible smart-home systems.

Our team can discuss the available options and advise on the best solution for your home.

Made to Measure Honeycomb Blinds

Accurate measuring is essential when choosing bespoke honeycomb blinds.

Our professional measuring service ensures that your blinds are manufactured specifically for your windows.

We consider:

  • Window width and height
  • Recess or exact blind dimensions
  • Window handles
  • Glazing configuration
