Premium Hardwood Plantation Shutters

Our Plantation Shutters are manufactured using Paulownia hardwood, a lightweight and durable timber that offers an excellent combination of quality, performance and sustainability.

Paulownia is particularly well suited to plantation shutters because it provides a strong yet lightweight material that can be crafted into elegant shutter panels and louvres.

The result is a beautiful window covering designed to provide long-lasting performance while adding a sophisticated finish to your home.

Made-to-Measure Hardwood Shutters

Every window is different, which is why our hardwood shutters are made to measure.

Our experienced surveyors carefully measure each window to ensure your shutters are manufactured to suit the individual shape and dimensions of your opening.

We can provide shutter solutions for:

  • Standard windows
  • Bay windows
  • Full-height windows
  • French doors
  • Patio doors
  • Large windows
  • Arched windows
  • Circular windows
  • Triangular windows
  • Hexagonal windows
  • Other unusual or shaped windows

If you have an awkward or unusually shaped window, our team can discuss the available options and create a bespoke shutter solution to suit.

33 Colours to Choose From

Personalise your Plantation Shutters with a choice of 33 painted colours.

Whether you prefer a classic white shutter, a warm neutral shade or a contemporary colour, our extensive range allows you to create a finish that complements your interior design.

You can view our selection of shutter colours and finishes at our showroom in Crowthorne, Berkshire.

Complete Light Control

One of the biggest advantages of Plantation Shutters is their excellent control over natural light.

The adjustable louvres allow you to control the amount and direction of sunlight entering your room.

You can fully open the shutters to maximise daylight, partially close the louvres to soften incoming light or close them completely when you require greater privacy and light reduction.

This makes Plantation Shutters particularly versatile throughout the home.

Privacy & Security

Plantation Shutters provide excellent privacy while still allowing you to control natural light.

By adjusting the louvres, you can reduce visibility into your home without necessarily blocking all daylight.

For rooms facing roads, neighbouring properties or busy areas, shutters can provide a practical and stylish privacy solution.

Improved Insulation

Hardwood Plantation Shutters create an additional layer between your room and the window.

This can help reduce heat transfer through the glazing and contribute to a more comfortable indoor environment throughout the year.

During colder months, shutters can provide an additional barrier at the window, while in summer they can be adjusted to help control direct sunlight and heat.

The overall thermal performance will depend on factors such as your glazing, window construction and room orientation.

Reduce Outside Noise

Plantation Shutters can also help reduce the amount of outside noise entering a room by providing an additional layer across the window.

While they are not designed as a dedicated acoustic product, their solid construction can contribute to a quieter and more comfortable interior.

Easy to Clean & Maintain

One of the practical advantages of Plantation Shutters is how easy they are to maintain.

Unlike fabric window coverings that may require regular washing or professional cleaning, hardwood shutters can generally be kept looking their best with simple dusting and wiping.

Their durable construction makes them suitable for everyday family life.

A Stylish Investment for Your Home

Plantation Shutters offer a timeless appearance that can complement both traditional and contemporary properties.

Their clean lines and sophisticated design can enhance the appearance of your windows while providing practical benefits every day.

Quality shutters can also be an attractive feature for homeowners looking to enhance the overall appeal of their property.

We recommend cleaning your Awning at least twice a year; Once before using it in the summer and again before you’ve rolled it up for winter, we also recommend wiping the metal components and fittings twice a year with a soft cloth dampened with warm soapy water.

  2. We recommend minimal use of the Awning throughout winter
  3. we also recommend removing the decorative fabric valance and storing it somewhere dry until the warmer weather returns.

Are Awnings Wind and rainproof?

  1. Although water resistant and durable, our retractable Awnings are not designed for heavy rain as this can pool on the fabric and substantially increase the Awning’s weight.
