Made-to-Measure Skylight Blinds & Roof Lanterns in Crowthorne and Sandhurst, Berkshire

Bespoke Blinds for Skylights and Roof Lanterns

Make the most of your natural light while controlling heat, glare and privacy with made to measure skylight and roof lantern blinds from Blinds and Awnings UK Ltd.

Large areas of roof glazing can transform a room, conservatory or extension by bringing in beautiful natural daylight. However, skylights, roof windows and roof lanterns can also allow excessive sunlight and heat into your home, particularly during the warmer months.

Our bespoke roof blinds, skylight blinds and roof lantern blinds provide an attractive and practical way to control sunlight while complementing the design of your room.

We offer a wide choice of solutions, including pleated blinds, honeycomb blinds, blackout blinds, thermal blinds and motorised roof blinds, depending on the application.

Based in Crowthorne, Berkshire, we provide professional measuring and fitting services across Berkshire and surrounding areas, including Wokingham, Bracknell, Camberley, Reading, Ascot, Windsor, Maidenhead, Yateley, Farnborough and Fleet.

Free, no-obligation quotations are available.

Skylight Blinds & Roof Lantern Blinds

Whether you have a single skylight, a series of roof windows or a large glazed roof lantern, choosing the correct blind system is important.

Our made to measure roof blinds can help you:

  • Control excessive sunlight
  • Reduce glare
  • Improve privacy
  • Reduce the impact of solar heat
  • Create a more comfortable room
  • Control incoming daylight
  • Improve the appearance of roof glazing
  • Provide additional thermal properties
  • Create a darker environment with blackout fabrics

Our experienced team will assess your glazing and recommend a suitable blind based on the size, shape, position and use of the room.

What Are Roof Lantern Blinds?

Roof lantern blinds are specially designed blinds for glazed roof lanterns and roof extensions.

Roof lanterns are increasingly popular in modern extensions, kitchens, dining areas and open-plan living spaces because they flood rooms with natural light.

However, large areas of overhead glazing can also create excessive heat and glare.

Made to measure roof lantern blinds can provide greater control over sunlight and temperature while maintaining the attractive appearance of the roof lantern.

Depending on the design and glazing configuration, different blind systems may be suitable.

Our team can assess your roof lantern and advise on the best available solution.

Made to Measure Roof Lantern Blinds

Every roof lantern is different, which is why made to measure roof lantern blinds are important.

Our professional measuring service takes into account the individual dimensions and configuration of your roof glazing.

We consider:

  • Roof lantern size
  • Individual glazed panels
  • Window dimensions
  • Available fixing points
  • Blind operation
  • Accessibility
  • Fabric requirements
  • Motorisation requirements

Once we have completed the survey, we can recommend a suitable blind system and provide a detailed quotation.

Electric Roof Lantern Blinds

Because roof lanterns are positioned above head height, electric roof lantern blinds are often one of the most convenient solutions.

Motorised blinds allow you to control the blinds without having to manually reach the roof glazing.

They can be particularly useful for:

  • Large roof lanterns
  • High-level roof windows
  • Conservatory roofs
  • Large glazed extensions
  • Multiple roof blinds
  • Hard-to-reach skylights

Depending on the system selected, motorised blinds can be operated using a remote control or compatible smart-home control system.

Our team can advise on suitable motorised options for your roof glazing.

Skylight Blinds

Skylight blinds are designed specifically for roof windows and overhead glazing.

They can provide an attractive solution for bedrooms, loft conversions, home offices, bathrooms and living spaces with roof windows.

Depending on your requirements, we can recommend:

  • Pleated skylight blinds
  • Honeycomb skylight blinds
  • Blackout skylight blinds
  • Thermal skylight blinds
  • Light-filtering skylight blinds
  • Motorised skylight blinds

The right option will depend on your window, room and preferred level of light and temperature control.

Blackout Skylight Blinds

Bedrooms with roof windows can become particularly bright during the early morning and summer months.

Blackout skylight blinds can significantly reduce incoming daylight and help create a darker and more comfortable environment.

They are particularly suitable for:

  • Bedrooms
  • Children's bedrooms
  • Guest bedrooms
  • Loft conversions
  • Home cinemas
  • Rooms with early morning sunlight

Blackout fabrics are available in a range of colours and finishes, allowing you to combine practical light control with your interior design.

Thermal Roof Lantern Blinds

Large areas of roof glazing can allow considerable sunlight into a room.

During summer, this can result in excessive heat. During colder months, roof glazing can also contribute to heat loss.

Thermal roof lantern blinds provide an additional layer between the room and the glazing and can help improve comfort throughout the year.

Depending on the fabric and blind system selected, thermal blinds can help:

  • Reduce solar heat
  • Reduce glare
  • Retain warmth
  • Improve room comfort
  • Control incoming sunlight

Our team can recommend suitable thermal fabrics based on your roof glazing and requirements.

Honeycomb Blinds

Honeycomb blinds, also known as cellular blinds, can be an excellent option where thermal performance is a priority.

Their distinctive cellular construction creates air pockets within the fabric, providing an additional insulating layer between the room and the glazing.

Honeycomb roof blinds can be particularly useful for:

  • Roof lanterns
  • Skylights
  • Roof windows
  • Conservatory roofs
  • Loft conversions
  • Glazed extensions

Roof Lantern Blinds for Dining Rooms

A roof lantern can create a stunning focal point above a dining area.

The right blinds can provide greater control over sunlight and glare while allowing you to enjoy the architectural feature of the roof.

Pleated, honeycomb and motorised options can provide a combination of style and practicality.

Roof Lantern Blinds for Living Rooms

For open-plan living spaces, roof lantern blinds can provide flexible control over natural light.

You can reduce strong sunlight during the brightest part of the day and open the blinds when you want to maximise natural daylight.

Our made to measure service ensures the blinds are designed to suit your individual roof glazing.

Roof Blinds for Home Offices

Natural light is excellent for a home office, but excessive sunlight can create glare on computer screens.

Skylight and roof window blinds for home offices can help reduce glare while maintaining a comfortable level of natural daylight.

Motorised operation can also make high-level roof blinds easier to operate.

Roof Blinds for Bedrooms

Roof windows and skylights can provide excellent natural light in bedrooms but can also allow early morning sunlight into the room.

Blackout roof window blinds can help create a darker sleeping environment.

Thermal fabrics can also provide additional properties for rooms where temperature control is important.

A Wide Choice of Roof Blind Fabrics

Your roof blinds should complement the interior of your home.

We offer a wide selection of fabrics, colours, textures and finishes, depending on the blind system selected.

Our team can help you choose between:

  • Blackout fabrics
  • Light-filtering fabrics
  • Thermal fabrics
  • Cellular fabrics
  • Pleated fabrics
  • Neutral colours
  • Contemporary shades
  • Textured finishes

We can provide fabric samples so you can see how the options look in your home before making your decision.

Motorised Skylight Blinds

For high-level glazing, motorised skylight blinds can provide exceptional convenience.

With motorised operation, you can open and close the blinds without needing to manually reach the window.

This is particularly useful for:

  • Roof lanterns
  • Skylights
  • High-level roof windows
  • Conservatory roofs
  • Large glazed extensions
  • Multiple roof blinds

Depending on the system selected, motorised blinds may be operated by remote control or integrated with compatible smart-home systems.

Our team can discuss your requirements and advise on suitable motorisation options.

  3. we also recommend removing the decorative fabric valance and storing it somewhere dry until the warmer weather returns.

Are Awnings Wind and rainproof?
